Services Offered By Desert Designz

Weekly Cleaning

Weekly cleaning includes skimming the surface, brushing the walls and steps, balancing chemicals, checking and cleaning all baskets, backwashing sand and DE filters when needed and vacuuming as needed. Each week you will receive an automatic e-mail containing pictures, chemical readings and what chemicals were added.

Filter Cleaning

Proper preventative maintenance on cartridge and Diatomaceous Earth filter systems help maintain maximum filtration and longevity of the equipment. Every 6 months, or more often if your pool gets dirtier than average, the filter should be disassembled and the internal elements should be cleaned and inspected. Once the equipment is cleaned the filter is reassembled and checked for leaks. This is also a good time to inspect o-rings and lubricate or replace if needed.

Phosphate Removal

Phosphates are chemical compounds that have phosphorus, an element that’s naturally occurring. These are inorganic materials that can potentially cloud your water. Algae feeds on phosphates and causes chlorine to be less effective. Our services include two phosphate removal treatments per year. If your pool requires more, then an extra charge will be offered at the going price of the product at the time needed.

Green to Clean

Sometimes a pool turns green and you just can't seem to figure out why. With 19 years of experience, I can find the reason and offer solutions to get your pool back to swimming conditions as soon as possible. Sometimes it's an easy fix, sometimes the pool will need to be drained. I'll let you know what caused the problem and what your options are to get it back to crystal clear again.

Clogged Pipe

When debris or objects get clogged in your underground pipes, your pumps flow and filter pressure will be the first thing you'll notice dropping. With pressurized CO2, I can blow the object out of the line and clear the clog. This is a dangerous job using compressed air and will require a waiver be signed in the event of a pipe blow out. This is a last resort to clearing a stubborn clog.

Vacuum Repair

There are many different types of automatic pool vacuum cleaners, from Hayward, Polaris and Zodiac. Each have unique parts and ways of being rebuilt. Shops will charge you around $100 just for the labor. I come to you and can repair vacuums on site. In most cases there is no extra charge for the repair only for the parts. Full rebuilds and jobs that require off site repairs may have a labor fee.

Drain & Refill

Every couple of years it is recommended the water in a pool be completely drained out and refilled with new fresh water. The weekly addition of chemicals and constant bombardment from Arizona's dirt causes water to go stale and the water will not respond to normal chemicals after awhile. If you find you're having to shock your pool every week or your cyanuric acid levels are over 250ppm, it may be time to change the water out. This job requires a waiver for insurance purposes.

Chlorine Rinse

If your pool has turned green or has algae discoloration on the finish, a chlorine bath may help remove or eliminate 90% or more of the algae stains. A chlorine rinse will also kill any algae roots that may be growing deep in the microscopic crevices of the finish. This job requires the pool be drained and a waiver will need to be signed for insurance purposes.

Acid Washing

If your pools finish has rust stains and discoloration, an acid wash will help remove 90% or more of the stains and make your pools finish look like new again. This job requires the pool be drained and a waiver will need to be signed for insurance purposes.

Repairs

There are so many different parts and different types of equipment that each pool is unique. From o-ring replacements to timers and salt cells, there are to many repairs to list. Give me a call and see if I can help. If I can't fix it, I can refer you to one of my many trusted colleagues from the AZ Pool Network.
